The Best at-home Equipment for Parents
We all know that fitness is important for our physical health, mental health, and overall wellbeing. That’s why everyone should have some piece of an at-home equipment.
As a parent, I know that it can be difficult to find time to get away and head to the gym and focus on you. If you are a new parent, the difficulty is even harder so I get it. I used to be there.
Which is why I started building my home gym. I wrote an article on how you can get started, How to get started with your home gym, and in that article I mentioned the suspension trainer.
Even if you do not want a home gym or a lot of equipment, the suspension trainer is the best at-home equipment and a must have.
Why the Suspension Trainer is the Best at-home Equipment
The suspension trainer is the best at-home equipment, not because its ability to build strength, or build muscle.
It is because the versatility of the piece of equipment. With the single piece of equipment, you can get a whole-body workout in almost any location so you don’t miss out.
How is this possible?
The suspension trainer can be used anywhere if you have a high enough anchor point. The anchor point can be a rod, squat rack, your door, tree branch, anywhere that is stable enough to attach.
The cool part is the ability to anchor your suspension trainer to a door if you have the attachment.
As a busy parent, having a piece of equipment at home that can attach to your door can be an effortless way to incorporate movement in your day.
Anytime you walk by the door, you can do a set of an exercise. Do this all day till you get the whole workout done.
- This is better than doing nothing.
- Still get results.
- There are no rules you must do a workout within the hour.
You can also do a short workout of 15-20 minutes every day. As a busy parent this is perfect because you can always find 15-20 minutes somewhere. This might take some sacrifice from tv time, reading, or other non-active hobbies.
No matter the goal, everybody can use the suspension trainer. As I mentioned earlier, the suspension trainer is super versatile. If you want to build strength, muscle, balance, or core stability, the suspension trainer will be your best at-home equipment that’s affordable.
Affordable Pieces of At-Home Equipment
Suspension trainers are affordable, that is another reason it is the best at-home equipment. You have the big brand, TRX, but you can find cheaper options on amazon if you do not want the big brand option.
I do not know the quality of other brands, but with TRX, I have had zero issues with and can ho weight. Not sponsored, just giving my own experience. Compared to other pieces of equipment, the TRX suspension trainer is cheap.

Suspension Trainer Workout
When ever you decide to get your suspension trainer, I want you have a plan to follow. So, here is a workout that you can follow with your new at-home equipment.
I am giving you two workouts, if you need to shorten them, just split it in half and you will have 4 workouts to do.
P.S. Supersets are two exercises that you perform back-to-back and then rest.
P.P.S. You can change the difficulty of the exercise base on your angle. The closer your body is to the floor (less angle) the harder it is. Bigger the angle the less gravity is working against you. Find what you can do but still challenging.

Best At-Home Equipment
Don’t let your kids get in the way of your health. Having an at-home equipment like a suspension trainer will help you focus on yourself so you can be a better parent. The cool thing is, your kids will be able to see you work out and see you as a role model for health and fitness.
It is important to show our kids what discipline looks like and how to be strong because they are always watching you. I would encourage them to join you as a form of playtime so you can help them create a healthy relationship with exercise.
